Butte College Cosmetology School opens, hopes to serve clients in August

CHICO, Calif. — Butte College's new cosmetology school opened Tuesday.

The new school, which is in the Almond Orchard Mall off Pillsbury Road in Chico. has state-of-the-art equipment to help teach students how to cut hair, do nails, and provide quality skin care.

The current class has 39 students.

By late August, the school said it hopes to begin serving the public with discounted rates so that students will get firsthand experience on cosmetology.

Butte College ended a long lease relationship with the Chico Beauty College, which had operated in Chico for 60 years.
