ANDERSON, Calif. — An Anderson man was arrested Wednesday on his 18'th birthday for allegedly stealing backpacks from Anderson High School.
APD received a report of a backpack theft Wednesday regarding a white, adult man on a BMX bike stealing several backpacks from campus.
One of the backpacks reportedly contained an iPhone that helped APD track down Nathaniel Russel, 18, who matched witness descriptions.
Russell admitted to having stolen the backpack and was subsequently arrested. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail on charges of grand theft and possession of stolen property.
