Arson arrest made after vegetation fire off Bechelli Lane

REDDING, Calif. — One person was arrested Sunday for suspected arson in Redding.

Crews with Redding Fire responded to a vegetation fire at 9:41 a.m. behind buildings on the northwest corner of Bechelli Lane and Hartnell Avenue. Firefighters arrived to a small grass fire burning about a quarter acre of vegetation. Investigators learned that transients were reportedly seen running from the scene.

Around 12:35 p.m., fire investigators arrested Jorgie Kinsfather, with help from the Redding Police Department.
