ANDERSON, Calif. — According to the Anderson Police Department, the gas leak in Anderson has been fixed and roads have been reopened.
Officials said residents are also being allowed to return to their homes.
The leak, which was reported on West Street between South Street and Howard Street, forced residents to shelter in place and Head Start Preschool to evacuate.
Students from Head Start were taken to the Anderson Moose Lodge where they were then picked up by their parents.
According to PG&E a mini excavator busted the neighborhood gas line. The line has since been repaired. Officials said residents should be able to use their gas lines by early evening.
