REDDING, Calif. — The Redding Police Department arrested a habitual criminal who has been booked into the Shasta County Jail 32 times in the past decade.
According to officials, Spencer Taylor, 25, of Redding, was caught on surveillance video allegedly stealing from a parked car at a local hotel. Taylor was arrested Saturday afternoon and booked into the Shasta County Jail on 6 felony charges.
Following his Saturday arrest, Taylor's history includes being booked into the Shasta County Jail 32 times, 26 of those arrests being made by the Redding Police Department.
Police reported that those charges included trespassing, possession of stolen property, fraudulent use of an access card, possession of heroin, sales of heroin, burglary, violation of probation, conspiracy and felon in possession of a firearm.
Over the past year alone, police reported that Taylor has been arrested 10 times, mostly for theft and drug related charges.
Taylor was placed on probation in July 2016. He was then arrested in September 2016 for possession of stolen property and theft with a prior. Ten days later, he was arrested for burglary and conspiracy. Fifteen days following that arrest, he was arrested again for petty theft and prowling. Taylor has been arrested a total of 18 times since being placed on probation
