REDDING, Calif. — The opioid crisis continues to be a problem for both large and small communities across the country. The Northstate is no different.
On Friday, doctors and patients got some information about some alternatives at an opioid presentation hosted by Mercy Medical.
Doctor Dan Stroll, a doctor at Mercy, presented at the conference while healthcare providers and patients alike attended.
Stroll's focused on presenting alternatives for patients who are being prescribed opioids for chronic pain.
"The problem is so widespread that almost everybody knows a chronic opioid patient personally, either their family or their friends. This is millions of people in the United States so it touches all of our lives. Those we know others we come in contact with in our daily lives," said Doctor Stroll.
Stroll said he believes there's hope in solving the issue with the drugs by spreading awareness.
