Redding driver killed in Oregon car crash

KENT, Oregon — Leroy Despain, 75 of Redding has been confirmed to have died in a single-vehicle crash in Kent, Oregon on Saturday.

Around 8:25 a.m. Saturday, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a report of a single-vehicle traffic collision on Highway 97 near MP 40, about a half-mile north of Kent.

According to Oregon police, Despain was driving a red, 1998 Jeep Wrangler southbound on Highway 97 when the Jeep left the road for an unknown reason and rolled multiple times.

Despain suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
