REDDING, Calif. — The 70th Redding Rodeo was greeted with cloudy skies and light rain that didn't seem to phase the fans or the livestock.
PRCA Xtreme bull riding and WPRA champion barrel racing opened the night, followed by the crowd-pleasing kids mutton busting and professional chuck wagon racing.
The Redding Rodeo Association event, featuring many of the world's top competitors, runs through Saturday at the Redding Rodeo Grounds.
Several events are also sponsored by the local non-profit Asphalt Cowboys.
