Foxx's daughter, actress Corinne Foxx, shared the news on social media Wednesday.
We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday," Corinne wrote. "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayer. The family asks for your privacy during this time."

CNN reported that the Oscar-winning actor is "hospitalized in Georgia and under observation."
CNN noted that a "source with knowledge of the event said Foxx was not transported by an emergency vehicle and it did not take place while on the set of the Netflix film, "Back in Action," which Fox is currently filming" in Georgia.
Foxx, 55, starred on the show "In Living Color" during the 1990s. He became more prominent following his portrayal of Ray Charles in the 2004 biographical film "Ray."
He won several awards for his role in "Ray," including the Academy Award, BAFTA, Screen Actors Guild Award, Critics' Choice Movie Award and Golden Globe Award.
