Actor Scott Baio, best known for television shows "Happy Days," "Charles in Charge," and "Joanie Loves Chachi," says he's leaving the Golden State.

"After 45 years, I’m making my way to finally 'exit stage right' from California," Baio tweeted. “The most recent survey conducted by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority found approximately 69,000 people experiencing homelessness in L.A. County and 41,000 in the city in 2022.”

"This brings down property value," Baio said of the homeless problem.

Also, no consequences for crime that is rampant, making things higher in price and it’s just not a safe place anymore.

Baio listed his 5-bedroom, 4.5-bath Woodland Hills house for $3.85 million.

According to property records, the actor purchased the property for $1.85 million in 2010.

According to the LA Times, the state of California lost over 500,000 residents between 2020 and 2022.

It's the fourth largest decrease in the country in that time, behind New York, Illinois and Louisiana.

Reasons given for leaving the state in the last few years include the high cost of living, high taxes, increased crime, homelessness crisis, and government restrictions like those imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
