REDDING, Calif. — A charity ice hockey game was held for California Highway Patrol Officer Aaron Weikert and his family Sunday at Skatetown Ice Arena in Roseville.
Everyone there got to meet celebrity actor Erik Estrada from the TV show 'CHiPs.'
Estrada presented Weikert with some personal gifts and the trauma surgeon who helped save Weikert's life gave a touching pre-game presentation.
Guests got to view a K-9 demonstration, showings of a swat vehicle a fire truck, and the CHP Mounted Unit.
Officer Weikert had been investigating a crash involving a cyclist being hit and killed by a driver who left the scene when another driver hit him.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving were also there for the sold-out charity event.
The CHP hockey team beat the Firefighters 7-6.
