Chico approves third and final cannabis dispensary ahead of "420" holiday

CHICO, Calif. — City council approved the city's third and final cannabis dispensary during their meeting on Tuesday night—two days before the unofficial holiday for cannabis users.

The name of the business is “Cloud Chaser" and it will take over “Show Love Thrift Shop” on Park Avenue. It joins Sweet Flower at Meriam Park and Embarc on Cohasset Road. Both Sweet Flower and Embarc are planning their own "420" celebrations on April 20 at their stores.

“The project has already obtained their commercial cannabis business permit from the business manager's office, which has included a comprehensive review by the city manager,” said Chico City Planner Kelly Murphy.

The council’s only concerns were about the amount of parking in the area. Officials said Show Love Thrift Shop will move to a new location and the building will be demolished and rebuilt.
