Butte County’s largest city is looking to fill four positions on its city council this November, and now the candidates hoping to fill them have been announced.

The City of Chico released the official list of candidates running for positions in district two, three, four and six as follows:

District 2

  • Kasey Reynolds (Incumbent, Vice Mayor/Business Owner)
  • Morgan Kennedy (Business Owner, Activist)

District 3

  • Dale Bennett (Appointed Incumbent/Asset Manager)
  • Monica McDaniel (Career Technical Educator)

District 4

  • Nichole Nava (Senior Case Manager)
  • Addison Winslow (Housing Consultant)

District 6

  • Tom Van Overbeek (Business Owner)
  • Jessica Giannola (Housing Case Manager)

Kennedy helped lead failed recall efforts against Chico Mayor Andrew Coolidge and Councilor Sean Morgan in 2021.

Bennet was appointed to the District 3 position after former Councilor Kami Denlay resigned from it, citing concerns for her and her family’s personal safety.

Nava helped lead failed recall efforts against former Mayor Randall Stone and Councilor Karl Ory in 2019. She additionally helped draw new electoral district lines that the council adopted earlier this year as part of its redistricting.
