CHICO, CALIF. — Of the various sights and activities in Chico, The city's local history museum intends to highlight historical elements via a spring lecture series designed to dive into unique topics that may even test locals on their own knowledge of the area they live in.
The series, which will run its fourth lecture on April 29th, discusses historical people, places, events and culture which had led to what current residents experience today in the City of Chico.
KRCR had the chance to visit the museum today and was told that a primary goal of the series is to enhance community involvement while providing a window into the perspectives of those who once lived in the city. Aside from those perspectives, the series will also discuss a variety of themes that cemented a distinct legacy for the city.
Speaking to local historian Dave Nopel who is a part of the series, KRCR's Christian Biaggi was given the rundown:
So if you were to come in for one of the lecture series, you'd hear something about Chico and the story of Chico in the past right up to today and we have a broad number of themes that our series really looks at; people, events, places, and buildings here in Chico
He added that a major inspiration to continue the lectures stems from his deep passion for Chico's history.
