A 34-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after crashing into a gas station on Wednesday afternoon.

Chico police said, at 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a crash at the Valero Gas Station at East 8th Street and Bartlett Street.

Officers ultimately determined that 34-year-old Colin Blount was driving west on East 8th Street and collided with another vehicle traveling west on the same road, forcing both vehicles to go off of the roadway and into the Valero parking lot. Police said said Blount's vehicle crashed into a gas pump and another parked vehicle.

Police said Blount displayed obvious signs of being under the influence of alcohol and, after a DUI investigation, he was arrested on suspicious of DUI of alcohol.

Officials confirmed nobody was injured during the incident. The Chico Police Department said they encourage residents to call 911 if they see a possible DUI.
