Enterprise High School held a fundraising concert, "Enterprise Starship," during Kool April Nites week at the Civic Auditorium on Monday night.

The show will feature performances from the school's choir, jazz choir and jazz band. "Starship" has been performing during Kool April Nites for over two decades.

On Monday, they were at the Civic Auditorium stage. KRCR's Tyler Van Dyke spoke with the school's Choral Music Director, Alissa Aune, about the reason behind the fundraiser.

"The fundraisers from Kool April Nites, over the years, have done everything for us from buying instruments and equipment, as well as uniforms," Aune explained. "This year, it also helps us go on a big tour that we are doing this summer. We are going to perform on a Royal Caribbean ship. And so, this is a big fundraiser towards that event as well."

KRCR also spoke to one of the show's performers, Dyllan Millsap-Unger, a junior at the school, who said last year's show was performed on the auditorium's grass lawn. Millsap-Unger said the grass made the show interesting, but they're excited to be performing on a stage this year.

Another one of the show's performers, Ashley Hansen, a senior at the school, said she was happy because it was her first time getting to perform in this show due to COVID-19.

Tickets were only $8 at the door and there were also burgers, veggie burgers and hot dogs for attendees. The show came to an end at 8 p.m. on Monday evening.
