ANDERSON, Calif. — A man was arrested Sunday night after using a imitation gun to steal a pistol holster, alcohol, and clothing from Walmart, according to the Anderson Police Department.
Officials said Julio Estrada, 31, of Shingletown, was found nearby and detained. A search revealed what appeared to be a Glock pistol tucked into his rear waistband.
After closer examination, police said the pistol was actually a BB gun and not a real firearm.
Police said Estrada displayed the firearm in a threatening manner when leaving the store. He took off running to a nearby walking trail, where officers caught him.
Estrada was arrested and booked into Shasta County Jail on charges related to robbery and displaying an imitation firearm in a threatening manner in public, the APD said.
