Good turnout for local sports bar's with New Year's Eve festivities

With New Year's festivities Saturday night, did bars saw an increase in attendance from last year?

We talked to a local sports bar about what kind of attendance they saw as people rang in 2023.

Riddick's Sports Pub in Redding was packed for a day of Sunday football, featuring the game of the day with what supporters of both teams still like to call the battle of the bay between the San Francisco forty-niners and the now Las Vegas Raiders.

So with it being packed during the day for football, we wanted to know, how was it for New Years?

Riddick's bartender Corey Servis said Saturday night was also packed for the New Year's festivities.

It was a really good turnout we had a lot of good people here, they did their pre-gaming and then they go party after that and it was a great crowd we had a great countdown last night and it was a good full bar for us last night getting ready for the new year," Servis said.

Servis said they also showed the college football playoff national semifinal games in the bar and saw quite a crowd for those.

We did we had a great turnout for college football yesterday we were packed most of the day for that and then we had a really good turnout for our new years eve last night for sure," Servis said.

With over 25 TVs, Servis also said they are ready for the NFL playoffs coming up in a few weeks and encourages you to get to the bar early and save your spot as they expect large crowds for those games coming up.
