A juvenile was hospitalized following a felony DUI rollover crash in Shasta Lake on Monday afternoon.

At 2:19 p.m., the Shasta County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) said their deputies responded to Ashby Road and Fort Peck Street for a report of a rollover crash. Their deputies arrived and reportedly found a UTV-style vehicle with two occupants overturned.

They identified the driver as Ashton Marie Strong, a 32-year-old woman from Shasta Lake. They said Strong displayed signs of being drunk. The passenger, a juvenile, suffered an injury in the crash and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies later determined Strong to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested her. The SCSO said Strong was medically cleared before being booked into the Shasta County Jail for DUI causing great bodily injury and child endangerment likely to cause great bodily injury or death.
