Do you Know Your Candidates? The Chico Chamber will host a virtual candidate forum on Wednesday night to get to know those running for city council positions.

The purpose of the forum is to give voters in Chico an opportunity to hear where candidates stand on important issues.

During the event, each candidate will answer four questions. The CEO of the chamber, Coreena Conley, will be the moderator.

According to the City of Chico's website, the 2022 election includes voting on four-year terms for District 2, 3, and 4 along with a vacancy seat for the original District 3 seat that was created in 2020.

District 2-

  • Kasey Reynolds (Incumbent, Vice Mayor/Business Owner)
  • Morgan Kennedy (Business Owner, Activist)

District 3-

  • Dale Bennett (Appointed Incumbent/Asset Manager)
  • Monica McDaniel (Career Technical Educator)

District 4-

  • Nichole Nava (Senior Case Manager)
  • Addison Winslow (Housing Consultant)

District 6-

  • Tom Van Overbeek (Business Owner)
  • Jessica Giannola (Housing Case Manager)

Wednesday's forum is open to the public at no cost. It goes from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. Those interested in joining should register in advance.

Anyone that can't join the Zoom forum can also watch on the Chico Chamber YouTube page.
