SUSANVILLE, Calif. — The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an inmate who escaped the county jail.
The LCSO shared that correctional deputies discovered 35-year-old Angelo Atencio II escaped on Friday.
According to a preliminary investigation, officers say they believe Atencio squeezed through a portion of the fence which was manipulated in the roof area of the jail’s exercise yard. Detectives found he was assisted by people inside and outside of the facility.
The LSCO describes Atencio as a 5’10” Indian male weighing 230 pounds with a medium to stocky build. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Atencio was booked into the Lassen County Jail on May 15 on charges related to kidnapping, home invasion, robbery, false imprisonment and parole violation. His last known address was Kei-Deh St. in Susanville.
