REDDING, Calif. — Police are currently searching for a suspect who reportedly attacked a local with a machete outside of a market store in south Redding on Thursday morning.
Officials with the Redding Police Department (RPD) said the attack happened off of Highway 273, near the Clear Creek Grocery & Market, at around 7:30 a.m.
The victim told police they were attacked by someone wielding a machete-type weapon. Police said the victim was injured in the attack, however, their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
As of this writing, police are still investigating the incident and the attacker remains outstanding.
