A mountain biker became injured after a fall while riding along the trails in Upper Bidwell Park on Monday morning. Chico Fire's Rescue Team, Park Rangers, and emergency medical personnel responded to the incident and were able to rescue the biker.

According to the Chico Fire Department, their crews responded to the Annie Bidwell Trail, in the South Rim of the park, at around 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning. They said the mountain biker had fallen while riding on the trail about a mile east of the Centennial Avenue gate.

Chico Fire said their crews were able to quickly respond to the hiker's position and begin emergency medical care. Chico Fire Technical Rescue Team and Butte County Engine 44 were able to use a stokes basket and rescue wheel to bring the patient from the park to paramedics. They then transported the biker to the hospital.

"We would like to thank the City of Chico Park Rangers, Butte County Engine 22, and Butte EMS for their assistance."

The extent of the biker's injuries is currently unknown.
