REDDING, Calif. — Shasta County has just sworn in a new Undersheriff.
Sheriff Michael Johnson swore in Captain Brian Jackson as the 25th Undersheriff of Shasta County. Jackson will fill the position which was left by the retirement of former Undersheriff, Jason Barnhart.
Jackson has been working in law enforcement for 26 years and began his career as a Public Safety Service Officer. During his time at Shasta County, Jackson has worked as a Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, and Captain. As Undersheriff, he will continue overseeing the various crime prevention departments in Shasta County and serve as the second-in-command to Sheriff Michael Johnson.
