SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. — Multiple Evacuation orders and warnings remain in effect for the McKinney Fire burning in Siskiyou County. As of Wednesday morning, the fire had burned57,519 acres with no containment.
Thousands of residents have been forced out of their homes. A shelter has been established for those evacuees at the Weed Community Center, located at 161 E Lincoln Ave., Weed, CA 96094.
Steve Walsh, regional director of communications and marketing with the American Red Cross Gold Country Region, spoke withKRCR Daybreak Anchor Nazy Javid Wednesday about current shelter operations and ways the public can help.
