Redding family enjoys fun in the snow

Redding — As the Northstate was hit with a winter wonderland Friday, one Redding family enjoyed a snow-fun-filled day with a snowman and snowball fights.

For the Walker family, the snow day was a chance to make memories. Daniel Walker and his wife Maddy said they tuned in to the news for the weather forecast, excited for the snow to come to Redding.

And on Friday morning, fresh powder snow cloaked their front lawn and the neighborhood, to the family's delight. Daniel was scheduled to go to work but received a call from his employer.

"I was told I had to come in at 10 am. So I might have time to play in the snow with the kids. Then right as the kids and I were stepping out the front door, they called and said work is canceled for the day," Daniel said.

Overall, the Walker family says as they enjoy their family snow day, the community can too.

"This is a good reminder to go outside and enjoy time with your family," Maddy said.
