REDDING, Calif. — The City of Redding is continuing efforts to prepare forthe upcoming Costco with a new plan focused around improving bicycle and pedestrian crossings around the area.

The city has unveiled its Bechelli Lane Improvements Project intended to provide better walkways and bike paths for those along Bechelli Lane from Cypress Avenue. The project will be managed by Tullis, Inc. and will cost $9,463,617.
Construction will include enhanced pedestrian crossings, buffered bike lanes, and completion of sidewalk gaps. The contract also includes improvements for the road along Loma Vista Avenue between Bechelli Lane and Churn Creek Road.

Construction will begin on Aug. 15 and is expected to be completed by July of 2023. Motorists should expect some delays while traveling in the area as a result.
