ANDERSON, Calif. — A convicted sex offender was arrested on Monday for being out of compliance, according to the Anderson Police Department.
The department's Problem Oriented Policing team conducted the compliance operation throughout the city. Officers went to the homes of registered sex offenders to confirm the information police have is up to date, including addresses and vehicle information.
Of the offenders contacted, only 65-year-old Daniel Lee Weippert, of Redding, was arrested. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail for failing to register since moving to Anderson, according to police.
Anderson Police say funding for the compliance checks is provided by the California OES SAFE grant.
