On Tuesday, 25-year-old Isaiah Williams was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison after being found guilty of shooting a man to death during a robbery in 2017.

Williams' sentence stems from themurder of Joshua Ahlberg and the attempted murder of his roommate, Coleman Yount, in September 2017. According to the DA's office, Redding police responded to Ahlberg and Yount's home on Heavenly Oak Lane in the early morning hours on September 20, 2017. Officers arrived and said they made contact with a frantic Yount, who said he escaped from his home as he and his roommate, Ahlberg, were being robbed at gunpoint. When officers entered the home, they said they found 19-year-old Ahlberg dead in one of the rooms from an apparent gunshot wound.

Information was later obtained that the three suspects, identified as Williams, Brooklyn Aubry Hill and Devin Dashawn Sutton Wilson, were staying at a home on Willis Street in Redding. Later that same day, stopped a vehicle leaving from that location and two of the three suspects were taken into custody. Police served a search warrant at suspect's home a short time later and the third suspect was taken into custody.
