REDDING, CA. — Simpson University is deploying its men’s team on the court once again as the new season of basketball is officially underway.
The team kicked off the season with a match against Lincoln University (LU) in a fierce game of court supremacy, resulting in LU with 82 points and the Red Hawks (Simpson) with 78, a close four-point difference. Competition was tough this time around as Lincoln recently brought on a brand-new head coach who is none other than Gary Payton, a legendary point guard who served a 13-year tenure with the Seattle Supersonics.

Despite the challenge, the Red Hawks brought coordination and energy throughout the game which may very well earn them some highlights, each game being an opportunity to improve the playbook.
Simpson will square off against William Jessup University tomorrow, October 30th, at home before heading to Walla Walla University for a match on November 5th followed by three more away games before facing Oregon Tech on home turf.
