With this rainy weather coming into the Northstate the possibility of flooding definitely increases. local landscaping companies like Loucks Landscaping Supply, are preparing the best they can by selling sandbags for their customers.

Sandbags are a helpful resource for when you are trying to reduce water damage. KRCR spoke with Cindy Louck, owner of Loucks Landscaping Supply, who says it's days like these where they typically see an influx of customers trying to prepare before the storm comes into the Northstate.

“For the obvious reason of to protect their home,” Louck continued,” and we are expecting to see some flooding for sure and to get the influx of folk who are in need of some help so we just wanna be here to help if we can !”

Louck added that sandbags typically can last up to 45 days but of course can withstand longer depending on the weather and if they are protected. She also recommends getting your sandbags sewn which can also protect your home even more in flooding. Loucks Landscaping Supplyhas both the bags and sand available for purchase.

Sand will be made available in two locations in Redding as well:

  • In the vacant lot north of Big League Dreams - 20155 Viking Way
  • At Fire Station #4 - 2605 South Bonnyview Road

It's important to note the City of Redding will not be providing shovels or sandbags at locations where sand is available in Redding residents will need to fill bags themselves.

Sandbags can be purchased at Loucks Landscaping supply, Axner's Excavating, Lowe's, Home Depot, Sunrise Excavating & Paving, or Vic Hannan landscaping.
