SUSANVILLE, Calif. — The City of Susanville Fire Department announced they, in close conjunction with Cal Fire's Lassen Modoc Unit, will be conducting a prescribed burn at Susan River Parkway on Friday, April 21.
Susanville fire officials said phase one of their project will begin with vegetation clean-up, tree pruning and removing dead and dying flammable materials. Then, Susanville and Cal Fire crews will have a controlled broadcast burn on the eastern portion of the city's property.
For the public's safety, the Parkway will be closed to the public beginning April 21, and lasting through April 28.
Fire officials said smoke will be visible in the area, however, residents should not be alarmed.
