LASSEN COUNTY, Calif. — A local man was arrested early Tuesday morning after a traffic stop led officials to finding meth, fentanyl, pills, and drug paraphernalia inside his car.
Officials with the Lassen County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) said a deputy stopped a vehicle for a code violation just after midnight on Tuesday. They identified the driver as Brianna Harrod, 30, of Janesville, Calif., and the passenger as Timothy Lee McAllister Jr., 55, of Susanville., Calif.
Susanville police were requested to the scene and used their K9 Zeke to sniff around the vehicle. The LCSO said Zeke alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from inside the vehicle.
Officers and deputies searched the vehicle and found a glass smoking device with white residue on it—suspected to used for methamphetamine. They also found a backpack with fentanyl, xanax and oxycodone inside.
Ultimately, McAllister was arrested and booked into the Lassen County Jail for possession of narcotics and possession of a substance with a prescription. The LCSO said Harrod was cited for drug paraphernalia possession and let go.
