[ORIGINAL | TUESDAY, MAY 19]
It's Rodeo Week in Redding, which means every bank in the area has been on the lookout for the infamous Lone Strangers. The masked duo— two notable local residents in disguise— stage an annual mock robbery, making off with a bag of stolen loot. This year was no exception.
The desperados struck Plumas Bank in Redding on Tuesday morning. The heist was a gutsy move, considering it all went down right under the vigilant eyes of the Asphalt Cowboys. The Cowboys gave chase, but the Strangers still managed to make an escape.
The Asphalt Cowboys now need the public's help catching these crooks and recovering the lost loot. They are even offering a reward.
From Tuesday, May 17, through Friday, May 20, the Asphalt Cowboys will be releasing daily clues to help uncover the loot's location and the identities of the Lone Stranger and Sidekick.
A $500 reward is offered to the first person who learns the bandits' secret identities, and an additional $500 reward is given to the person who discovers the loot.
Each day, the cash prizes will decrease by $100 in value. If no one comes forward by then, the Lone Strangers will get away!
TUESDAY CLUES:
Clue to ID the Lone Strangers
Robbed our bank and escaped they did,
engineered this caper with ease.
Behind each gray rock and violet rose,
show a hint of their expertise.
Clue to find the loot
Hid the loot the lone strangers did,
in a spot not easy to find.
Their Grand escape has fooled us all,
it’s their approach we must keep in mind.
While you're searching for the loot, keep in mind that it is never hidden on private property. It is also never hidden in a place that would require someone to climb or dig in order to access it.
If you believe you know the identities of the Lone Strangers, call 530-223-1188 to claim that prize. The loot will be in the form of small sack with a phone number attached to it, and anyone lucky enough to find it should call that mystery number in order to claim that prize.
Daily clues will be posted by KRCR, as well as on the Asphalt Cowboys Facebook page. Good luck Northstate!
