YREKA, Calif. — Drivers in Yreka can expect to see a new traffic pattern on Main Street beginning Monday.
The Yreka Rehab Project will begin on the evening of August 15 and completion of this three-season project is expected in 2024.
State Route 3. also known as Main Street will have extensive pavement repair done from the south end (Westside Road) to the north side (Montague Road).
A new traffic pattern will be put in place with road conversion on the south side of Yreka, one lane will remain open in the area near Fort Jones Road and Moonlit Oaks Avenue.
This project highlights how the improvement of the roads will "significantly smoother ride for motorists" while providing a "clean, pedestrian-friendly look" with decorative street lighting and sidewalk access.
Funding of $1.1 billion provided by Clean California will assist in creating a clean, friendly area for the City of Yreka.
