Mountain Fire burns over 1,400 acres in Siskiyou County, new evacuation order issued
SISKYOU COUNTY, Calif. — UPDATE, SEPT. 2, 10:10 PM:
CAL FIRE officials in Siskiyou County say the Mountain Fire, burning southwest of Gazelle in Siskiyou County, has now been recorded burning 1,464 acres with zero containment.
Officials said the new acreage is due to a new estimation from their sensor aircraft.
An Evacuation Order has been issued for Siskiyou County Zone 5203. This zone includes all areas north of Nat'l Forest Development Road 41n03, south of Gazelle Callahan Road, and West of Old Highway 99 South.
Additionally, a new Evacuation Warning has been issued for Siskiyou County Zone 5102. This zone includes all areas north of Macks Gulch Road and Old Highway 99 South, south of Scarface Road and Cram Gulch Road, east of Scarface Road and west of Old Westside Road and Old Highway 99 South.
Evacuation Orders:
- SIS-5203: North of Nat'l Forest Development Road 41n03; South of Gazelle Callahan Road; West of Old Highway 99 South.
Evacuation Warnings:
- SIS-5102: North of Macks Gulch Road, Old Highway 99 South; South of Scarface Road, Cram Gulch Road; East of Scarface Road; West of Old Westside Road, Old Highway 99 South.
- SIS-2337: North of Nat'l Forest Development Road 40n08; South of Nat'l Forest Development 41n03; East of Gazelle Callahan Road, Noyes Valley Road; West of Nat'l Forest Development Road 17.

CAL FIRE officials in Siskiyou County say the Mountain Fire, burning off of Gazelle-Callahan Road, east of Gazelle Mountain; southwest of Gazelle in Siskiyou County, is now 600 acres with zero containment.
According to the county's evacuation map, evacuation warnings remain in place for the following zones:
- SIS-5203: North of Nat'l Forest Development Road 41n03; South of Gazelle Callahan Road; Est of Old Highway 99 South.
- SIS-2337: North of Nat'l Forest Development Road 40n08; South of Nat'l Forest Development 41n03; East of Gazelle Callahan Road, Noyes Valley Road; West of Nat'l Forest Development Road 17.

CAL FIRE officials confirmed the Mountain Fire, burning off of Gazelle-Callahan Road, east of Gazelle Mountain; southwest of Gazelle in Siskiyou County, is 300 acres with zero containment.
According to the county's evacuation map, evacuation warnings have been issued for the following zones:
- SIS-5203: North of Nat'l Forest Development Road 41n03; South of Gazelle Callahan Road; Est of Old Highway 99 South.
- SIS-2337: North of Nat'l Forest Development Road 40n08; South of Nat'l Forest Development 41n03; East of Gazelle Callahan Road, Noyes Valley Road; West of Nat'l Forest Development Road 17.

This fire is burning to the west of the Mill Fire, last confirmed to be burning over 2,500 acres in the areas of Lake Shastina, Edgewood and Weed.

BREAKING REPORT, SEPT. 2, 5 PM:
CAL FIRE officials in Siskiyou County confirmed a new fire burning near Gazelle in Siskiyou County. The fire is being called the Mountain Incident and was last confirmed to be burning over 10 acres.
Additionally, according to the county's evacuation map, Evacuation Warnings have been issued due to this fire. Residents in these zones should prepare to evacuate.
These include the following zones:
- SIS-5203: North of Nat'l Forest Development Road 41n03; South of Gazelle Callahan Road; Est of Old Highway 99 South.
