GOSHEN, Calif. (KMPH) — Six people — including a 17-year-old mother and her 6-month-old baby — were found shot to death at a home in central California and authorities aresearching for at least two suspects, possibly gang members.
Tulare County sheriff's deputies, between Fresno and Bakersfield, got reports of multiple shots fired just before 4 a.m. Monday.
They arrived to find two gunshot victims in the street who had already died.
Then, they called for help and found four other shooting victims inside the home.
One of them was still alive but died in the hospital, a short time later.
The teen mom and infant had both been shot in their heads.
Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said other people on the property survived, but he wouldn't give details on them, including how many there are. There are multiple structures, including trailers,on the property.
He also said he didn't think this was a random act of violence. He said the family was targeted and the gunmen were sending a message.
Detectives said authorities served a narcotics search warrant at the house a week ago.
