Some coastal communities impacted by Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Nicole are getting relief thanks to the Hurricane Stormwater and Wastewater Assistance Grant program.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced $100 million in funding for local governments that operate a stormwater or wastewater management system that were impacted by the storms.

“Helping communities fully rebuild after disaster and become more resilient in the face of future storms is a top priority for my administration,” said DeSantis. “Today’s awards will ensure impacted stormwater and wastewater systems are able to be restored as quickly as possible to protect our communities and our environment.”

Counties eligible for funding include Brevard, Broward, Charlotte, Collier, Duval, Flagler, Indian River, Lee, Manatee, Martin, Nassau, Palm Beach, St. Johns, St. Lucie, Sarasota and Volusia.
