GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WGFL) — The man accused of shooting someone in the buttocks waited for police officers to arrive and they said he told themhe was tired of being harassed.
The shooting happened Tuesday at an apartment complex in Gainesville, Fla.
Gainesville police said 62-year-old Frank Hargitt was waiting for them with his rifle.
According to the arrest report, he told police the victim "lunged at him" on his porch, so he got his gun, chased the victim around the corner, and shot him.
They said he told them, "I didn't want to kill him so I shot him low."
Hargitt was arrested and charged with aggravated battery.
