BEDFORD, Pa. (WJAC) — The manager of a Dollar General store followed a suspicious customer to her car and that led to much more than a simple shoplifting charge.
Pennsylvania State Police filed a felony retail theft charge against that woman, accused of stealing $11 worth of bacon from the store.
They said on Sunday, the manager told troopers she saw Kelli Snyder enter, and then leave a short time later without buying anything.
Then, the manager became suspicious when she saw Snyder, 36, get into her car and empty her purse.
That's when the manager walked over and saw two packs of bacon on the seat.
Police said the manager even claimed she took inventory of the bacon in the store, and noted there were two missing packs.
Finally, authorities said surveillance video showed Snyder take two packs of bacon from the cooler and then move out of sight of the camera.
Police were able to find Snyder at her home and said she admitted to stealing the two packs of bacon.
Unfortunately for Snyder, police said this was her third retail theft offense so she'd have to face a felony.
Court dockets show she was arraigned and then released on bail.
