Utah Sen. Mitt Romney in 'no hurry' to decide on reelection campaign — Utah Sen. Mitt Romney said he is focused on what he can accomplish in the Senate, and not yet looking at a bid for reelection.
Elected to represent the Beehive State in 2018 after longtime Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch announced his retirement, Romney has often made national headlines.
Romney hosted a town hall in Utah Thursday, discussing several national topics including security, Ukraine and Russia. He also spoke about the Chinese spy balloon shot down by the US military.
Up for reelection in 2024, KUTV News in Salt Lake City asked about a potential campaign for a second term.
That's something I'll decide down the road. (There’s) no hurry on that from my standpoint,” he said. “I want to consider what things I can accomplish before I serve another term – and when I get a sense of that, I'll probably make that decision."
Senator Romney also commented on the war in Ukraine, saying the U.S. will continue to support the country with the weapon systems they need.
