ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (TND) — A mother and stepfather have been arrested after forcing their children to get tattooed and then cutting their skin to try and remove the ink, according to police.
Megan Mae Farr, 27, and Gunner Farr, 23, tied down their 9-year-old and 5-year-old to forcibly give them tattoos, an affidavit received by KTREstates. One child was given a tattoo on their foot while the other had one on their shoulder.
An investigation alleges the children were tied down with a rope, their mouths covered with tape and a rag covered their eyes.
Additionally, the parents tried to hide the tattoos by cutting, scraping and scrubbing the area as well as rubbing them with lemon juice, officials said.
The report states the incident was reported to Child Protective Services (CPS) after the biological father and stepmother saw the tattoos on the children and asked Megan Farr about it. The father claims she laughed about it and drove away.
Zavalla Police Chief Lieutenant James Denby said a tattoo kit was turned over to investigators.
Someone came forward and turned in a tattoo kit that she claimed was loaned to Gunner to perform tattoos. She didn’t know it was going to be performed on a child,” Denby said.
The two children along with two others are now in CPS custody.
Jail records show Megan Farr is charged with two counts of injury to a child and unlawful restraint while Gunner Farr is charged with one count of unlawful restraint and one count of injury to a child. Megan has a bond amount set at $60,000 and Gunner's is set at $35,000.
