Episode 31: 1,000 Russians waiting on the Mexican border

It’s the day a Russian couple has been waiting for. The day of their asylum appointment to enter into the US through Brownsville. With their 13-year-old little Yorkie, they waited for hours on the Gateway Bridge between Matamoros and Brownsville. But the trip wasn’t as easy as it sounds. Along the way, they also found a non-profit that was charging $3,500 per person to “help” them by “using their influence” with CBP to have their paperwork done quickly. This is according to what the couple said.
