LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — A domestic disturbance incident in Arkansas between a husband and wife ended Sunday afternoon with the pair in custody and facing multiple charges, police said in a news release.
Police said they responded to shots fired at a Jacksonville residence shortly before 4 p.m.
Upon arrival, police said they encountered Jessica and Elijah McDonald, who were shooting at each outside the home. According to the release, officers took both individuals into custody without incident and located two small children inside.
A search warrant for the residence was later obtained, where detectives determined the McDonald's began shooting at each other inside before moving outside.
Several firearms were discovered in the home and seized, police said.
The release said Elijah was charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, criminal attempt to commit murder, 14 counts of possession of firearms by certain person, first-degree false imprisonment, second-degree domestic battery, aggravated assault on a household or family member, first-degree terroristic threatening, two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, theft by receiving and interference with emergency communications.
Jessica was charged with two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and 14 counts of furnishing a handgun or a prohibited weapon to a felon.
