Irondequoit, N.Y. — (WHAM) - Police investigators in Irondequoit are asking for help across the country to help them find the boyfriend of a woman who was found dead and dismembered in her home this week.
Lisa Shuler, 37, was found dead in the home on Culver Road Tuesday evening. Irondequoit is located approximately five miles east of Rochester, N.Y.
During a news conference Friday, Irondequoit Police Chief Alan Laird said Shuler's body was found dismembered, but would not elaborate. Her exact cause of death has yet to be determined by the Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office.
"Out of respect for the family and the ongoing investigation no further details on the extent of the dismemberment will be released at this time," said Laird.
Shuler's boyfriend, 40-year-old Seth Larson, lived with her at the home. The two have been together for the last 10 years. He has since fled the area and was spotted Tuesday in the state of Maryland. Investigators say he is a person of interest in the case and have been unable to speak with him about the homicide.
"It is very important that we do speak with him to find out what happened," said Laird.
"He is not in the area and we are pleading with the community as well as the media to help to get this story out across the eastern sea board and across the country at this time because he does need to be brought to justice."
Larson is described as 5'9" with a medium build, tattoos on his forearms, a shaved head and short brown hair. He is believed to be driving a blue 2011 Nissan Juke with New York plates FTP6756. The front plate is completely peeled off and the rear plate is partially peeled off, which will make the vehicle distinctive.
Laird is asking for anyone who may have seen Larson or his vehicle to call 911 to help them in this investigation.
“The victim deserves this, the victim’s family deserves this,” Chief Laird said.
Investigators said they are still not sure when Shuler was killed.
Anyone who may have information about Larson or sees his vehicle is asked to call 911, Irondequoit Police at (585) 336-6000, or Crime Stoppers at (585) 423-9300.
