The U.S. Marshals Service is searching for a registered Texas sex offender who officials say used Instagram to sexually assault a 14-year-old girl.

On March 7, Bexar County deputies were dispatched to an address in San Antonio. When deputies arrived, they spoke to the victim who reported that 20-year-old Daniel Michael Martinez had sexually assaulted her.

The 14-year-old victim said she met Martinez on Instagram and believed he was younger. Martinez then allegedly picked up the victim in a vehicle, where she claims Martinez sexually assaulted her.

The victim was then dropped off at her home and made an outcry that she had been sexually assaulted. Investigators responded to the location and they were able to identify the suspect.

Officials said Martinez is a registered sex offender, with another active warrant for Sexual Assault of a Child. Investigators issued a warrant for his arrest and he has been on the run since.

If you have any information on Martinez’s whereabouts, reach out to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office at 210-335-6000.
