Rep. Suzanne Bonamici, D-Ore., continues to recover from an automotive accident Friday night that sent her to the hospital.

Bomamici and her husband, U.S. District Judge Michael Simon, were hit by a slow-moving vehicle while crossing a street in Northwest Portland.

The couple had just left an event and were in the crosswalk of an intersection when they were hit by the oncoming car.

Bonamici suffered a concussion and a cut to her head. She was taken to a local hospital, treated, and released. Her husband suffered only minor injuries.

In a statement released on her social media channels, Bonamici said “Thank you to everyone for your well wishes, and to the first responders and health care workers who provided the care we needed. My husband and I are continuing to recover at home, and are grateful for your kind thoughts and support.”
