Shoplifter gets prison time for biting off guard's earlobe

HILLSBORO, Ore. — A woman will serve more than five and half years in prison for theft and biting off a security guard's earlobe when she was caught.

The Washington County district attorney says in July of last year, Ashlie Clark shoplifted more than $800 worth of merchandise from the Nordstrom at Washington Square Mall in Tigard.

Loss prevention officers confronted her as she tried to leave.

When they tried to recover the stolen items, a struggle ensued and Clark bit off at least half an inch of one of the security guard's earlobes.

It could not be re-attached.

On Friday, Clark pleaded guilty to assault and attempted robbery.

A judge sentenced her to 70 months in prison and three years of post-prison supervision.
