An alligator that weighed more than 600 pounds was caught by hunters near Lake Marion in South Carolina during the weekend.

In a Facebook post, Cordray's Processing and Taxidermy said Nick Gibert and his crew came in with the massive gator on Saturday.

"Nick Gibert started off alligator season with a monster! 13 foot bull gator weighing 625 lbs," according to the post.

The shop, which is located inRavenel, does alligator meat processing, taxidermy, various mounts, and more.

Cordray's shared multiple photos of the alligator on social media.

The shop also posted a video of the massive gator.

In 2020, another ginormous gator was caught by hunters near Lake Moultrie.

Hunter Ben Bussey and catcher Shawn Adkins came across the gator near Angel's Landing in Pineville.

Cordray's previously said the pair brought their catch into its shop. They said it weighed in at 521 pounds and was 127 long.

Four years prior, an 800-pound alligator was captured onLake Marion.

The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reported that Jonathan Smith and finance Melissa Davis pulled in the gator after fighting it for hours in 2016. It was 12-feet 10-inches long and weighed 806 pounds.

At the time, a representative from the Department of Natural Resources there was no official listing of the largest alligators caught in the state, adding that some people estimate the sizes and weighing the large animals is an inexact science.
