SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO, (WOLF) — “It is nice to be important but it is more important to be nice,” was proved at Alfredo’s Cafe located in the South Side Shopping Center of Scranton, Pennsylvania, on June 16th by their out-of-town customer, Eric Smith.
Leslie Galacci shared the story with FOX56.
When the time came for Smith to pay his check, his server, Mariana Lambert, walked into her manager's office with tears in her eyes, stating that a customer was leaving her a $3,000 tip on his $13.25 bill.
Matt Martini, manager of Alfredo's Cafe, went out to verify the chargeable amount added was correct, collect additional ID, and inquire about him having written "Tips for Jesus" on the check.
Smith explained about a social media trend “Tips for Jesus," that impacted him, and that Lambert’s hospitality inspired him to leave this generous amount for her.
It is really nice to see that there are amazing people out there, spreading unexpected joy, and making such a difference in someone’s day.
